hello whimsy nation. Today we have another episode of artist shoutout, right before the summer of shout out events start. before i get to the artist portion of the shoutout, i'd like to shout out some collabs as well. (and why yes, there IS new formatting to the shoutouts. thank you for noticing.)

i kid you not i literally JUST found these guys today. its very surprising that these two artists aren't constantly gracing the front page of newgrounds, because the quality of work here is phenomenal. if you like dragons or horror, you should be excited for this installment

✪ ARTIST NO. 1: @Noctem-Tenebris ✪

i think dragons are just awesome. you cant have enough of them, quite honestly. they are quite complicated creatures to draw, so i feel its sort of rare you come across a dragon artist at times. especially one that really excels at what they do. noctem does dragons FANTASTICALLY.

this is like. SO beautiful i dont even know what to say. the dragon itself exudes raw power. that guy KNOWS they're the boss. not to mentioned every single scale is detailed. the lighting is breathtaking. this is a powerful creature and its been masterfully portrayed here.

another absolutely gorgeous, grand in scale work. these are art pieces i dont have to talk much about, because they do a wonderful job of speaking for themselves. yet again, the shading, detail and overall form of the dragon are breathtaking.

✪ARTIST NO.2: @CRYPTICQ

surprisingly, i do like horror. CRYPTICQ is very skilled at the art of Absolutely Creepy. if you like horror too, i'm sure you're going to fall in love with his work too.

my first thought when i saw this: what the hell is that thing

which if you think about it, thats VERY good when you're trying to scare people. It's dark, its unsettling, its confusing and creepy. its all the things it should be. The colors, lighting and composition do very well to come together and make a fantastic piece of art. If i end up seeing this thing in my nightmares, then i will consider it a good nightmare.

oh dear!! he is In There! CRYPTICQ's style does very well to give medieval fantasy vibes. looking at this image, for a moment you could almost swear you had stumbled across this Monstrosity in real life. I am reminded of a line from i have no mouth and i must scream where ted compares the fear hes experiencing as the same cold horror of a razor blade slicing across his eyeball. I think these artworks replicate a similar feeling.

okay Dats all. Definitely give all the talent mentioned here a look through. It was hard to pick just two pieces to show for the artists but somehow i managed. If you like what i showed here, you'll like the rest of their galleries. The collabs are also lead by competent and friendly hosts, and i know you wont regret joining in on the fun with them.

i thought since i have just finished wrapping up spinning for the winners and getting their requests sorted out for the art raffle that its time i do another artist shoutout. if you love y2k webcore 2000s, whatever im supposed to call it type art, prepare to be delighted in this installment

i hope you're sitting down when you learn that this fantastic artist only has 7 followers, because that fact certainly knocked me off my feet. seeing a fantastic artist with so few followers is like watching the wings get ripped off an angel, and hopefully this shoutout can help remedy that just a little.

beautiful, nostalgic and dreamlike. this is just one of those artworks that speaks for itself on how great it is. its like a portal back to 2010 but even better. a very mystical (dare i say whimsical) illustration that feels grand in scale. i need not go on further.

the creepypasta vibes in this one are SO on point. if for some reason you follow me for both my work on pokemon mystery meat and my mlp fan art, you're in for a big treat here. i literally feel like a kid again discovering those creepy mlp speedpaints on youtube again looking at this. again, i dont have to go on for long to get my point across on how awesome this artist is.

i was big into the classics as a kid. "what do you mean, whimsical-wife? you mean like mozart or something?" ABSOLUTELY NOT. im talking banithekitty, im talkin splashkittyartist, im talkin kay2036. i love those funky critters and you should too. i think its very awesome that even in current day i can find artists like f4t4lfrankie who perfectly capture such aesthetics.

i dont even gotta TELL you those critters are cute, you already KNOW it. the colors are beautiful. i love purple and pink and the chosen shades of it work excellently here. the stylization of the cats (assuming species here because it was also tagged with sparkledog) is very adorable. the backround is a simple but beautiful galaxy. the patterns on the creatures are fantastic as well! almost reminds me of those old postcard pets from lps, but id go as far to say as i like these guys better.

YOU LOVE NYAN CAT, READER. sorry for yelling, but i KNOW YOU DO. if not you must assimilate IMMEDIATELY. this is a very faithful recreation of the original nyan cat animation. not going to lie this hits like all the bases for me. cute pink cat soaring through space? with RAINBOW sprinkles? Delightful and magical. You'll definitely want to check out the link for this artwork as there is a second gif of equal quality in it that i did not feature. great cat, great animation, GREAT day.

this milestone actually happened so close to the 400 milestone that i'm not too sure i have anything unique to say. the growth is insane and as always i appreciate it a whole lot. i love making art, hosting collabs and just getting to know all you silly newgrounders. i feel like im starting to repeat myself now but i cant wait to make more things for the community. it brings me just as much joy to watch my own account grow as it does to have been able to help someone else grow through a collab, shoutout or whatever have you. thank u newgrounds and i love u. big urge to thank all my homies and bromies but im saving that for my 2025 recap

whimsical buisness

i am currently rolling around a couple of ideas in my head. the most easily executable and most likely (at this point in time my cat has crawled on my lap and is in the way of me typing; i found this important to share) is another shoutout event for the summer in the same vein as the loveletter event i ran in February. instead of focusing on personal relationships, this one will just be shouting out creators on the site that you like.

another idea i had was to users submit one of their ocs, then randomly assign everyone to add their own spin to. sort of like an oc restyle. my concerns with this idea was someone getting a less skilled artist assigned to their oc, and being upset with the result. i feel like the solution would be to have a more sophisticated hosting system almost identical to how secret santa is hosted here. Sorted into groups based on effort put in/ skill level and with backup artists. but my problem with that is it seems like a huge undertaking for just me to host on my own, and a lot of effort if the idea doesnt take off. there's also the question of are unscouted artists included? to which i would always like the answer to be Yes, but i fear it would be extra work. its something i need to think more about.

i would also like to host a spiritual sequel to the pokemon variance collab this year. Maybe something more in the realm of actual fakemon instead of forms of pre-existing pokemon. I had thought of a sort of pokemon showdown clone for the collab game, but was told it would be a lot of work on the hypothetical programmer so i went hmmm... Thats Not Good. i want to do something more Fun presentation wise then the past pokedex style gameviewer but cannot really think of anything. if you're a programmer and you're like "hot Dong i've got a great idea whimsical-wife" just like hmu or smthn.. i suppose there's nothing wrong with the pokedex game viewer if nothing else is thought of however.

and of course just normal art stuff. mouthwashing and ponies of course. but if there's something you'd like to see me draw in terms of fanart, whether its a franchise i've drawn for before or something i've literally never mentioned let me know! i might end up drawing it.

i've been very lazy on newgrounds recently, in part due to being sick and also in part to me becoming the sweatiest cookie run kingdom gamer ever after toybox collab. i said i'd never go back to that game, but clearly im in some sort of strange, baked goods themed unhealthy relationship with it. BUT WE AREN'T HERE FOR MY ESCAPADES. we're here for me to show YOU whimsical-wife's favorite artists on newgrounds. AND WE WILL DO THAT RIGHT NOW. if you follow me specifically for cute and whimiscal art, you are for sure in for a treat with these artists.

artist no.1: @VioletBird

there are many great artists on newgrounds of course, but i do feel it's rarer for me to find fellow creators who embrace cuteness in their style. i do not necessarily see it as a bad thing, it just makes it all the sweeter when i do find artists who play into aesthetics i love. you can imagine i was thrilled to the core when i happened upon violetbird's art on the portal one day.

i do not remember the exact art of her's that i found intially, but i do have to say this one is my favorite.

i'm a big fan of angels, and this is just too cute. the bear on its own is simply adorable, not even to mention the fluffy wings and delightfully cute rainbow scarf. the color palette is incredibly pleasant. i need not to say more, i think the art speaks for itself.

it is always very nice to see lesser known artists get a well deserved frontpage, especially when they excel at what they set out to portray in their art. as far as cute little critters go, i do not think you could get much better. if you need something to brighten your day, def give this artist a look over

artist no2. @Ferbun

if you're into lineless art, get ready to meet another of newgrounds many talented lineless artists. i found ferbun's account thru the art forum and instantly followed. cute, lineless little critters are right up my alley, and probably up your's too if you follow my account.

this was part of an art trade i did with ferbun. perhaps you've seen it before as i did link it on my part of the trade, but who's to say it doesnt deserve promoted a second time? it is just So cute. i love the shading and lighting. the pose is very sonic-esqe to me. it's probably one of the cutest fanarts of wifecat to date. not to mention, the backround is very cute. one could say, perfectly pink even.

dude is drawing CATS for real. do not let my choice in art to promote fool you, he does draw more than cats. he is a rabbit himself after all. but anyways i think this one is wonderful for all the same reasons above. ferbun has a very gentle and pleasant style that manages to be energetic as well. i think the details on the clothing are well executed, and he does a good job at going beyond just a normal colored background and is able to make it into something more interesting. i always enjoy getting his art in my feed and you might too!

that's it for episode three. if you excuse me i have to go rob my friend who just pulled awakened pure vanilla from the normal cookie gacha (he knows who he is, dude if you're reading this im sending my beasts after you right now). this collab has been super successful, even before posting. it's the largest collab i've ever hosted and honestly by no means could i have done this by myself. that being said, its time for me to give a couple people their flowers.

can we say, the goat. ems was the programmer for this collab, and even did most of the art for the game itself. he definitely had the lion's share of work, but he ALWAYS delivers. the game is just awesome. if i had to name the people who had helped me get to where i am on newgrounds right now, ems would definitely be at the top of the list. he's a fast worker and overall just a nice and easy going guy. we've worked together on both the pokemon mystery meat collab and the pokemon variance collab, which are again collabs which would've never happened without his help. i have never seen this guy flinch ONCE when given a task. Just an awesome guy who's super underrated for all the work he does, please check him out. He does a lot of non-collab stuff too!

its very funny that most of the team that worked on the pokemon mystery meat collab came back to work for this project, but i guess you cant deny a dynamic trio. creeperforce is much like ems, someone who's very chill and easy to work with. Despite me coming to him near the deadline of the collab, he was able to finish the music for it in a very timely manner. He's been getting up on the frontpage recently with his music, so you've probably heard of him beforehand but if you havent go check out his work and give him a follow. here's the song!

what is this? the end credits of a indie video game? but seriously, collabs are nothing without the people who support them. i'd like to thank all of you for showing interest in this collab, whether you made an actual entry or you were just checking things out as they went along. i hope you all enjoy the final product! it was tons of fun seeing all the entries and positive comments. i know this was a lot of people's first collab, and im happy we were able to provide that experience for you all!

if you're curious about my next plans, im pretty sure im just going to chillax for a bit. i'm thinking of doing some art related contests / neat things instead of collabs, as i have been listening to multiple people talk of the oversaturation of collabs. IT JUST GOES REALLY HARD. the artstyle is very unique and the piece in general captures the dark vibes of mouthwashing. the colors are very pleasing, and jimmy is a disgusting wrinkly beast (as he should be!)

curly and anya are my favs, and i think this is a really sweet "what if curly locked in and reduced jimmy to a red paste" scenario. the lighting and shading is fantastic, and i love how the blue from the screen bathes the entire image. the expressions and poses are also done really well. very enjoyable! she posts more than just mouthwashing, but of course these were my favorites

i found this user thru.. i believe either shangxian or chronong? it was an immediate follow for me. lots of colorful creatures? oh yeah dude thats whats UP. if you like vibrant colors and thick lineart, you'll love her work

i put this in the front page suggestion thread, and was quite honestly a little frustrated it wasn't chosen. doesnt it just look like it belongs there? the line art is just awesome. im not normally a big fan of neons, but i think slushie-sweetheart pulls them off very well. the use of color is just great.

the colors, again are just beautiful. she uses different brushes together very well. the image is just glowing. the sunset is beautiful, and the dog is cute, what more could you ask for?

so my homie wendale pringle doesn't post as much as he used to because college beats him with a big spiked bat every single day ( i know a lot of you can relate to the feeling) but when he does ur in for a treat. he has a very distinct style and everything he makes is dripping with his own artistic interpretation. iur gonna have a fun time in this guys gallery

this was an awesome collab we did. he actually came up with the entire idea, then set up the collab itself. buddy did like the entire thing while i sat back and drank a smoothie, how evil. his influence definitely made the collab a lot more awesome

y'all ever heard of.. tradition..? wen has like a really iconic, mk ultralevel tick that activates whenever he hears the word tradition. Look how fun and colorful that image is. and always with the fun backrounds, yellow guy kinda looks like armenian corey. which im totally not just saying to torment him

ANYWAYS that's it for episode 1.. maybe next episode i'll be able to scrunge together an actual piece of literature related to the artists i show but for now just go give these guys a follow. today is a very joyous day as we celebrate over 400 WHIMSLERS. didnt expect to reach 400 so fast after reaching 300! thank you all!

i would like to write a huge, big thank you to everyone, but im just not the type who does well with that sort of thing. regardless, im very blessed to receive as much love and support as i have from the newgrounds community, especially here recently. the love and support i have received for the toybox collab is nothing short of heartwarming, and im glad to see so many people excited for it to be made. I am also very grateful for the people who have been helping me bring it to fruition behind the scenes! i hope to create more collabs in the future, hopefully bigger and better than the last each time! (a girl can dream!) besides collabs, i'd like to thank everyone for all the lovely comments and general positive reception of my art! i'm very happy to have found people who truly adore what i make. i am very happy to read everyone's reviews and see the people who vote and favorite on my art. as i said last time, i really do recognize the people who do this regularly and appreciate them immensely!
